The adages "home sweet home" and "home is where the heart is" reflects the University of Mary men's basketball team.
After losing three straight, the Marauders bounced back to dismantle the No. 19-ranked Augustana Vikings, the No. 3 team in the Northern Sun, 71-59 to remain unbeaten at 11-0 at the McDowell Activity Center.
The U-Mary women dropped their third straight with an 86-83 setback on Friday night.
"After a couple rough weekends it was nice to come home," U-Mary junior Jordan Wilhelm said. "Anytime a team like Augustana comes into town it's going to be a tough game. It seems like we don't have that extra urgency on the road."
The Marauders climbed into fifth place from sixth in the NSIC standings, along with Concordia-St. Paul. U-Mary can secure a playoff berth tonight with a win against Wayne State. The top four teams host a first-round playoff game.

"Jordan Wilhelm stepped up time after time and made some big- time shots," U-Mary coach Randall Herbst said. "He hit some midrange jumpers and he hit some 3s. He took care of business."
U-Mary never trailed in the contest. The Marauders caught fire in the first half with a 19-5 run. Moody started the run at 12:04 with a free-throw line jumper and closed it at 5:29 with a right baseline jumper on a cross-over move at 5:29 to give U-Mary a 28-12 advantage. Erdmann spearheaded the rally with four straight field goals.
The Marauders led 35-20 at the half.
The Marauders bent at times in the second half but never broke. Augustana came within 12 points twice but couldn't get any closer.
"It was a physical game, and we got a little soft at times in the second half," Herbst said. "We had some uncharacteristic turnovers. It just shows that we have room for improvement. This is a team that is still learning how to win."
